Scripture is filled with imagery and descriptions of our Savior Jesus as the warrior who fights
and defeats sin, death, and Satan. Each midweek service during Lent service focuses on an aspect of our Savior-warrior as he is promised to us, fights our enemies for us, and triumphs over them for us.
Midweek Lent services are at 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm, and run from February 26th to April 1st.
In Jesus’ time, people wanted the Messiah to be very different than who Jesus was. And still today, we often desire that the central figure of our faith isn’t like Jesus. We want a conquering hero arriving with his armies of angels. But instead we find a willing suffering servant. This is what Paul called the foolishness of the cross. But the Bible makes it clear that the Jesus we get is far greater than we could have ever designed. He meets all our greatest needs, from forgiveness, to eternal life,
to peace in the midst of trials.
This series will run from February 23rd to April 5th on Saturdays at 6 pm and Sundays at 9 am.
Zion will also be hosting Game Day, a community event where we get together and play board games, card games, and Bingo. You’re invited to join in starting March 14th at 1:30 pm. You may bring a game to share. And feel free to bring a friend, too! The event is for all ages.
