The A/V Team takes care of the technology needed at each of our worship services. They run the camera and sound board, as well as the presentation software. A key part of this ministry is ensuring all services are recorded for those who cannot be with us in church.
Although the responsibilities of this group may sound "very technical", the tasks are pretty basic and training is provided.
In a joint effort to share the gospel with residents of St. James Manor in Crete, the pastors at Zion and our sister church, Trinity, hold a Chapel Service every Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM. Zion has accepted the privilege of helping on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, as well as alternating fifth Tuesdays of the month.
St. James Manor is located at 1251 E. Richton Road in Crete.
Encourages members to use their God-given gifts in service to their Savior, and to stay connected with God's Word.
The elders encourage faithful worship from our members, and assist members with spiritual issues.
The Ladies' Aid is a service oriented group. The Ladies' Aid sends out cards to members for special celebrations or just when a little encouragement is needed. Baskets are prepared by them at Christmas time for our shut-in members. They are also in charge of organizing and serving funeral luncheons in the church hall.
The Altar Guild of Zion is open to all confirmed women, 18 years of age and up. Their main function is the weekly maintenance of the church altar and sanctuary, including preparing for Holy Communion. They decorate the church for Easter, Christmas and other special services, as well as maintaining the floral chart for altar flowers.
